Is the old Testament too old?

It amazes me how God fulfills His word. He hath said,

(Mat 13:52 KJV) Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

How could the New Testament church make the error of saying that the Old Testament was for the Jewish people and the New Testament for the Gentiles? Did they not read the Bible? I have just read James and I was pleased to see how this disciple relied on the Old Testament scriptures to instruct the "New Testament" believers into righteousness.

See for yourself:

James 1: 11 comes from Isaiah 40:7,8
James 2:8 and 5:9 comes from Lev 19:18
James speaks of the faith of Abraham in 2:21 and of Rahab in 2:25. He speaks of Job in 5:11, and Elijah in 5:17.

His conclusion of the Old Testament scriptures could as well be summed up by the verse Peter 5:10 which states,

(James 5:10 KJV) Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

Yes, these things (the whole Bible) were written for an example for us upon whom the ends of the world have come.

(Jude 1:7 KJV) Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

(Rom 15:4 KJV) For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

(1 Cor 9:9 KJV) For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?

(1 Cor 9:10 KJV) Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.

(1 Cor 10:11 KJV) Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

(1 Cor 10:12 KJV) Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
